The 2018 West Pacific season had 32 storms of tropical-storm strength or more, 16 of them typhoons and 9 major (Category 3 or stronger). 6 reached Category 5: Maria, Jebi, Mangkhut, Trami, Kong-Rey, Yutu.

The first storm was tracked from December 29, 2017 and the last ended on January 7, 2019. The strongest by wind was Typhoon Jebi (2018), at 180 mph (285 km/h). The season's accumulated cyclone energy (ACE) was 360.2.
